How to reset Hive
Start with a restart, which keeps your schedules. A factory reset wipes them, so save it for when a restart hasn't worked.
Before you reset anything

Restart the thermostat

Factory reset the thermostat
- Hive Thermostat (current model, Active Heating 2): press and hold the back and menu buttons until the screen shows 'factory reset' and counts down from 10. 3 Hive sources
- Hive Thermostat Mini: press and hold the down arrow and circle buttons until the screen shows 'factory reset'. 2 Hive sources

Restart or re-pair the receiver
- Restart: switch the boiler off at its isolation switch (the receiver lights go out), then back on. 2 Hive sources
- Pair with your hub: hold the central heating button on the receiver until the status light double-flashes amber, then follow the Hive app. 4 Hive sources
- Pair without a hub (standalone): hold the central heating button until the status light flashes pink or white. 2 Hive sources
- While you pair the receiver, take the batteries out of the thermostat. 2 Hive sources
Restart the hub
- Switch the hub off at the plug, switch it back on, and give it 10 minutes to come back online. 2 Hive sources

- Hive hubs need an internet connection faster than 5 Mbps and don't work with 2.5 Gbps router ports. 2 Hive sources
- We couldn't find a factory reset that Hive publishes for its Nano hubs. If a restart doesn't fix it, contact Hive.
