Ideal fault code

Ideal F2: flame loss on Ideal Logic boilers (overheat or no water flow on the Exclusive 2)

Check these first, then call an engineer

On Ideal Logic and Logic+ boilers, F2 means the boiler has lost its flame, and Ideal's first check is whether gas is reaching your home. On the Ideal Exclusive 2, F2 means something different: flow temperature overheat or no water flow, where Ideal points you to the pressure instead.

What you can safely do

  1. Logic and Logic+: see whether your other gas appliances, such as the hob, are working, and check the gas is on at the meter and any prepayment meter has credit.
  2. Exclusive 2: check the pressure gauge and top up to between 1 and 1.5 bar if it is low.

Call a Gas Safe engineer if
