Ideal F3: fan fault (Ideal Logic)

Check these first, then call an engineer

On Ideal Logic boilers F3 means a fan fault, and Ideal suggests restarting the boiler, which can clear it. On the Exclusive 2, Ideal simply says to contact Ideal or a Gas Safe engineer.

What you can safely do

  1. Restart or reset the boiler once.

Call a Gas Safe engineer if

  • F3 comes back after a restart. The fan needs checking by an engineer.
